Who We Are
The School of Information at UC Berkeley stands as a distinguished professional educational institution dedicated to enhancing access to information while ensuring usability, reliability, and security. Strategically positioned in the heart of campus, it harnesses the expertise of scholars from a wide range of disciplines, including information science, computer science, design, social sciences, management, law, and policy. The School offers three professional master's degrees—MIMS, which cultivates information professionals through interactive, project-based learning; MIDS, that equips data scientists to adeptly manage and analyze vast data sets via a unique online format; and MICS, focusing on training cybersecurity leaders to tackle complex challenges with both technical prowess and contextual awareness, in addition to an academic doctoral program designed to prepare scholars to influence information policies and practices effectively.
