BiBa Software specializes in a suite of stand-alone applications designed to enhance data management activities for various studies, offering modular solutions that can be integrated into a comprehensive information management and analysis system tailored for individual research needs. As part of the Maelstrom Research program, the OBiBa software suite features advanced components that facilitate data harmonization and secure sharing among study networks, while its customizable and user-friendly applications are built on the latest programming technologies, ensuring compliance with the highest standards of privacy and data security. Established in 2007 as part of the Population Project in Genomics (P3G), OBiBa's growth has been bolstered by substantial financial support, leading to the collaboration with the DataSHaPER project that culminated in the Maelstrom Research initiative, aimed at developing innovative tools for epidemiological data harmonization, based at the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Center in Montreal, Quebec.
